Staff Accountant

In this role you will deliver client accounting services, financial statement preparation, and tax return support within a small, local public accounting firm. You will work on general ledger maintenance, audits, and tax filings, contributing to accurate financial reporting and compliance. You will collaborate with a tight-knit team to uphold GAAP and IRS standards while serving diverse clients. • Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
• Participate in audit engagements including planning, fieldwork, and reporting
• Assist in preparing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare tax returns and related documents
• Prepare audit work papers and documentation according to firm standards
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and other accounting standards

• 2+ years of experience in tax and financial statement preparation
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
