Overview As an Associate in our Real Estate group, you help drive transactional work for a full-service law practice. You will support buyers and sellers through purchase agreements, closing documents, and title and financing reviews, contributing to smooth closings. You will work with cross-functional teams to manage complex real estate matters and help grow the firm's representation in this sector. This role offers a path toward senior responsibility within a mid-sized firm that values long-term careers and client-focused service.
Responsibilities- Prepare and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for real property transactions
- Draft closing documentation and manage the closing process for both buyers and sellers
- Analyze title commitments and survey materials; resolve title objections
- Review and negotiate financing documents (mortgages, deeds of trust, loan agreements, promissory notes, guaranties)
Key requirements- 1,500 hours billable target per year
- Strong transactional real estate experience including drafting and negotiating closing documents
- Experience negotiating and drafting commercial lease agreements
- Experience preparing loan documentation and leading loan closings
- Familiarity with construction contracts and AIA documents
- Exposure to environmental due diligence (Phase I/II) and environmental site assessments
- Litigation experience related to real estate (title disputes, landlord-tenant, boundary issues, Torrens) is a plus
- Real estate transactional drafting and negotiation
- Title commitments and survey analysis

- Commercial lease drafting and negotiation
- Construction contract familiarity (AIA documents)
