Tax Senior, Business Incentives Group (FDII)

Overview

As Tax Senior in the Business Incentives Group, you lead and support engagements to identify, quantify, document, and support tax incentives and credits. You work with senior professionals to plan projects, gather client data, prepare analyses and reports, and mentor junior staff to ensure high-quality deliverables. You will balance client collaboration with rigorous documentation and stay current on tax strategies. This role offers the chance to shape incentive solutions for clients while growing with a values-driven, ESOP-backed firm.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or support client interviews to identify qualifying activities and costs
  • Prepare or review calculations, cost schedules, and activity descriptions
  • Organize workpapers and manage project timelines to meet due dates
  • Produce final client deliverables summarizing analyses and results
  • Mentor BIG Interns, Associates, and possibly other Senior Associates
  • Research potential new clients and assess tax positions and opportunities
  • Utilize online research tools to gather tax, legal, and industry information
  • Keep tax knowledge current and educate oneself on tax strategies
  • Ensure compliance with tax quality standards per policy
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two or more years of experience in accounting, tax, or finance
  • Experience in research and development or other tax consulting roles (preferred)
  • Experience in preparing/reviewing tax provisions, corporate taxation, consolidations, and partnerships (preferred)
  • Currently holds or is pursuing CPA, Enrolled Agent, or JD (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong client service focus
