Overview

In this role, you will manage a varied civil litigation docket from inception to resolution within a Jacksonville-based firm. You will support clients with strategic advice, conduct research, draft pleadings, and lead or assist in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation. You will work closely with partners and staff to deliver strong client service while staying current on Florida law. This is a collaborative, fast-paced opportunity to advance a long-term legal career in a respected practice.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial strategy
  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on litigation risks and business objectives
  • Maintain regular communication with clients while providing practical legal guidance
  • Collaborate with partners and support staff to deliver exceptional client service
  • Stay current on Florida statutes, case law, and procedural developments
Key requirements
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar in good standing
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
  • Experience with commercial litigation, business disputes, professional liability, insurance defense, construction litigation, or general civil litigation is highly desirable
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills; deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience
  • Excellent organizational and case management abilities
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
