Overview As Associate Director of Finance for three pediatric divisions, you will serve as the senior financial leader guiding strategy, budgeting, and research administration to support patient care, education, and clinical innovation. You will partner with division leadership to translate financial data into actionable decisions, oversee a high-performing finance team, and ensure regulatory compliance. This hybrid role emphasizes strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and improving operational efficiency in a mission-driven academic medical environment. Responsibilities- Serve as principal financial advisor to division leadership and develop long-range financial plans
- Direct annual operating and capital budgets and monitor performance across funding sources
- Partner with division leadership on faculty recruitment, compensation analyses, and financial planning
- Analyze clinical financial performance, improve operational efficiency, and support new programs
- Oversee sponsored research budgets and ensure compliance with regulations
- Lead the finance and research administration team, with hiring, coaching, and succession planning
- Develop executive dashboards, monthly/quarterly reports, and communicate complex data to leaders
- Maintain internal controls, risk management, and adherence to university policies and audits
- Collaborate with hospital administration and central offices to drive cross-functional initiatives
- Mentor finance professionals and foster a culture of accountability and service quality
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree and six years relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Oracle or other business financial systems
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills
- Leadership experience managing a team
- Understanding of financial principles and budgeting
- Experience with sponsored research administration (preferred)
- Knowledge of procurement, vendor requirements, and cost analyses
- Ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences
- Experience working with PIs, sponsored research offices, and external sponsors (preferred)
