Commercial Strategy Analyst

Overview

In this role you will support DARPA's Commercial Strategy Front Office by shaping financial and business models that accelerate the commercialization of critical DARPA technologies. You will collaborate with DARPA PMs, performers, investors, and government partners to advance initiatives and strengthen strategic relationships. You will deliver analytic support, market mapping, and due diligence to enable rapid, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a chance to impact national security by turning cutting-edge research into real-world products and capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive commercial analytic support to the Front Office including marketing, due diligence, and techno-economic market mapping
  • Develop business and financial models to counter adversarial threats targeting DARPA-funded technologies
  • Engage DIRO, performers, technical offices, DARPA Commercial Accelerators, entrepreneurs, investors, academia, DoD, and other government partners to strengthen relationships and accelerate commercialization
  • Coordinate and develop executive-level briefings for government, corporate, and investor audiences
  • Assist in integrating workstreams, coordinating priorities, and facilitating meetings
  • Track and report Commercial Strategy activities, processes, and progress
Key requirements
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience as an analyst at a global investment firm, venture-backed startup, or supporting DoD transition efforts in a government agency
  • Mastery of financial and business modeling for commercial investments
  • Experience covering analytic and financial technology and global markets in at least one of the 14 DoD critical technology areas
  • Working knowledge of financial trading, deal structures, business structures, and financial transactions impacting markets
  • Understanding of adversarial business and financial structures affecting DARPA-funded technologies to develop countermeasures
  • Experience developing financial models, presenting business strategies, coordinating actions, and facilitating meetings for executives
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and onsite work capability
