Overview As Project Accounting Manager, you will lead core accounting activities for our Houston operations within the energy sector, delivering strong financial oversight and actionable insights. You will guide planning cycles, oversee close and reporting, and partner with local leadership to enable reliable financial outlooks. You will drive process improvements, strengthen controls, and support decision-making with meaningful analysis. This role combines hands-on accounting with cross-functional collaboration to sustain fast-paced operational success.
Responsibilities- Direct the site's annual budget development in collaboration with local leadership
- Manage quarterly forecast updates and ensure timely financial outlooks
- Oversee month-end close for project-related accounting and produce management reporting packages
- Prepare and evaluate monthly financial results, highlighting revenue, margin, costs, and drivers
- Analyze variances versus budget/forecast and present actionable recommendations
- Maintain facility absorption rates in line with global standards and inform stakeholders of changes
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations before monthly close, with focus on WIP and accrued/def Revenue
- Manage inventory accounting, coordinate physical counts, and lead obsolescence reviews
- Review fixed and intangible asset activity for policy compliance and capitalization
- Administer intercompany reconciliations and support cash forecasting, invoicing accuracy, collections, audit requests, internal controls, and process improvements
