Responsibilities- Lead actuarial analyses and provide strategic guidance for the Workers Compensation segment, aligning with profitability, growth, and portfolio objectives
- Develop and maintain pricing analyses, rate indications, portfolio monitoring tools, and profitability assessments to support underwriting and business strategies
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Executive Management to identify risks and opportunities and support strategic decision-making
- Monitor portfolio results, loss trends, claim development patterns, and underwriting performance to provide actionable recommendations
- Partner with Claims leadership to evaluate claim trends, severity drivers, and initiatives impacting Workers Compensation performance
- Provide actuarial support for business planning, forecasting, reinsurance evaluations, and other strategic initiatives
- Clearly communicate actuarial analyses and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management
- Present findings in meetings and translate complex concepts into practical business considerations
- Serve as a trusted advisor on actuarial methodologies, assumptions, and key performance drivers
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects representing the Actuarial function across enterprise and segment efforts
- Manage, mentor, and develop actuarial staff, promoting technical excellence and alignment with objectives
Key requirements- ACAS required; FCAS preferred
- Minimum 8-10 years actuarial experience with strong emphasis in Workers Compensation
- Experience in WC pricing, reserving, or portfolio management
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience partnering with Underwriting, Claims, and Finance leaders to influence strategy and outcomes
