Overview As a Mainframe Storage Architect, you define the architectural vision for complex storage solutions and guide the technology backlog to support the product roadmap. You work across business, operations and technology to ensure client resiliency and effective non-functional outcomes. You will lead design discussions, resolve architectural impediments, and mentor teams on best practices. Your work helps large-scale mainframe storage environments evolve safely, with focus on performance, security and reliability. This role offers a chance to shape strategic storage architecture in a high-impact financial services setting.
Responsibilities- Define the architectural vision and target operating environment for complex solutions
- Translate requirements into a technology backlog to support the technology roadmap and evolving capabilities
- Contribute to the architecture roadmap for defined domains (Business, Application, Data, Technology)
- Clarify architecture and assist with system design, providing solution options to remove impediments
- Facilitate solution-driven discussions and design complex architectures with flexible, modular approaches
- Educate team members on technology practices, standardization, and best practices
- Assist in selecting technology stack and preferred products for solutions
- Perform design and code reviews to ensure non-functional requirements (security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, reliability) are met
- Lead mainframe storage architecture activities including storage disk, engineering, and virtual tape projects
- Collaborate with others to design, develop, and set strategy for mainframe storage in a large, dynamic environment
