Overview

In this role you will lead and steward ASCO/Conquer Cancer brand strategy across channels, ensuring consistent, impactful storytelling and brand integrity. You'll partner with content and marketing teams to guide creativeDirection, naming, and campaigns while maintaining brand governance and ethics. You'll manage brand templates, educate internal stakeholders, and oversee external vendors to deliver cohesive, on-brand assets. This is a pivotal, cross-functional role at a mission-driven nonprofit with broad visibility.

Responsibilities
  • Define and oversee brand strategy, guidelines, vision, and growth plans; align with leaders and environmental influences
  • Educate internal teams and build brand ambassadors to ensure cohesive storytelling
  • Partner with content and marketing teams to guide creative development and ensure brand-aligned execution
  • Lead brand positioning for new programs, including naming and visual guides
  • Translate marketing objectives into creative strategies and produce high-visibility design assets
  • Develop accessible brand templates and self-service toolkits for staff
  • Review and approve high-visibility campaigns and multimedia assets
  • Establish guardrails for copyright compliance and ethical use of AI tools
  • Coordinate onboarding with external vendors and ensure brand-compliant assets across digital/print
  • Conduct brand compliance audits and monitor brand drift across properties
  • Collaborate with IT on the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) and ensure asset governance
  • Stay abreast of design and brand storytelling trends to inform work
Key requirements
  • 7+ years in Marketing with branding, storytelling, and messaging
  • 3-4 years leading complex programs or providing strategic support
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Experience with a DAMS and content management systems
  • Experience directing external vendors
  • Preferred: experience in nonprofit and/or fundraising marketing
  • Preferred: familiarity with project management and AI-driven content creation tools
  • Preferred: Bynder (DAMS) and Airtable
  • Excellent communication (written)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building
