Overview In this role you lead the NDT organization, including Operations, Engineering, and Technical Authority, to deliver safe, high-quality products while enabling production objectives. You drive strategy, staffing, budgeting, and continuous improvement across the department. You will partner with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and advance inspection capabilities. Responsibilities- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the NDT organization (Operations, Engineering, and Technical Authority)
- Set departmental goals aligned with safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement
- Manage staffing, succession planning, and employee development
- Drive accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence; lead organizational change
- Oversee performance metrics (throughput, productivity, quality, schedule adherence, asset utilization, costs) and cross-functional problem solving
- Lead NDT Engineers on process development, equipment qualification, automation, and improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with Central Engineering on tooling, programming, controls, and capital projects
- Support adoption of new inspection technologies and process improvements
- Partner with Responsible Level III to ensure NAS410 compliance and regulatory requirements
- Ensure resources for technical excellence while supporting Level III responsibilities
- Oversee budget management, capital planning, and customer support
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent leadership experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing, aerospace, quality, engineering, or operations
- Strong organizational, communication, and people leadership skills
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement
- Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality systems, and process improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise systems (SAP experience preferred)
