Overview In this role you drive technical tax review and client service for complex returns within a growing regional CPA firm. You will lead tax engagements, mentor staff, and coordinate with Partners to ensure timely, accurate deliverables. Responsibilities- Perform technical tax review and approval of complex returns and government examinations
- Serve as subject matter expert in discipline or industry
- Oversee large returns and delegate work to tax preparers
- Manage client service for assigned clients and delegated engagements
- Supervise and develop staff through recruitment, training, and evaluation
- Ensure smooth workflow and timely, accurate tax return delivery
- Oversee billing and collection processes
- Research and evaluate tax software for partner recommendations
- Participate in practice development and external network activities
Key requirements- Current knowledge of tax laws
- Proficiency with tax preparation, research, and planning software
- Overtime required, especially Jan-Apr
- 7-10 years in public accounting with increasing tax complexity
- At least 2 years representing clients before tax authorities
- 1+ year supervising tax preparers
- Bachelor in accounting; Master in taxation preferred
- CPA license in good standing with AICPA
