Overview In this contract role you will advance in vivo CAR-T programs for autoimmune diseases and cancers within an Immunology & Translational Biology group. You will design and run in vivo and ex vivo experiments, interpret results, and maintain meticulous records to support assay optimization and decision-making. You will work independently on complex problems while actively collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive science forward. This role offers meaningful impact through advancing cell therapy platforms and cross-team mentorship.
Responsibilities- In Vivo & Ex Vivo studies to support CAR-T programs (mouse studies, tissue processing, cell culture)
- Design and optimize multiparameter flow cytometry panels; analyze data with FlowJo and present findings
- Design and perform LNP-transfection experiments; assess potency with cell-based assays
- Maintain primary human T and PBMC cultures; develop co-culture and functional assays
- Execute functional assays including flow-based and Incucyte live-cell imaging
- Maintain compliant, audit-ready records in Benchling (ELN, protocols, inventory)
- Follow SOPs with rigorous attention to detail and address deviations or optimizations
- Coordinate cross-functional experiments with teams (e.g., CMC) and provide technical support
- Plan and manage complex multi-step experiments, reagent orders, and biosample logistics
Key requirements- B.S. with 5 years or M.S. with 3 years in Biology/Biochemistry/Immunology or related life science discipline
- On-site contract role (1-year duration, renewable)
- Proven expertise in multiparameter flow cytometry (panel design, execution, FlowJo)
- Experience with functional assays (flow or live-cell imaging like Incucyte)
- Experience with ex vivo tissue processing from mouse organs, human PBMCs, and/or NHPs
- Experience with LNP and electroporation-based transfection
- Experience with primary T and PBMC culture, activation, and viability assessment; cell line maintenance
- Proficiency in Benchling (ELN, protocols, inventory)
- Strong record-keeping, protocol adherence, and problem-solving abilities
