Director, Deferred Compensation and LTIA

Overview

In this role you lead and govern deferred compensation and LTIA programs to align with company strategy and talent objectives. You influence design and optimization through cross-functional partnerships, manage 409A risk, and ensure compliant, cost-efficient operations. You act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, guiding complex regulatory contexts and vendor relationships. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on program administration to deliver clear value to clients and the business.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of deferred compensation and LTIA program administration
  • Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders and stakeholders to influence program design and optimization
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, HR, Payroll, HR Operations, and external advisors
  • Analyze program costs to simplify design, enhance value, and reduce risk including 409A exposure
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and manage regulatory risk and complexity
  • Translate regulatory requirements into practical, sustainable program designs
  • Manage relationships with external recordkeeping vendors and ensure service levels and compliance
  • Oversee processes for new awards, vesting, distributions, and participant support
  • Develop and lead communication strategies for program changes and enrollment materials
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for day-to-day administration and governance
  • Build team capabilities in consultative leadership, stakeholder influence, and risk-aware decision making
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years)
  • 10+ years of experience with 5+ years in benefits functional areas
  • Deep knowledge of deferred compensation and equity programs
  • Vendor management experience
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven people leadership and team-building experience
