Overview

In this Scientist II role, you will contribute to Biotransformation and Disposition studies within Development Sciences, applying in vitro and in vivo workflows to advance drug metabolism projects. You work closely with Discovery, Development Sciences, and Clinical Pharmacology to deliver reliable analytical solutions using LC/MS technologies. You will optimize procedures, manage day-to-day lab operations, and communicate results clearly to diverse stakeholders. Your work supports precision, reproducible data that informs pipeline decisions and scientific publications. This role offers hands-on experimentation, collaboration across teams, and opportunities to learn and apply new techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine tasks independently to generate reliable results
  • Operate LC and MS instruments across vendor platforms (Thermo, Sciex) to support studies
  • Prepare samples for analysis (LC, MS, Scintillation) and conduct in vitro assays with potential radio-labeled compounds
  • Optimize procedures to improve productivity with guidance from senior scientists
  • Learn and apply new experimental techniques and modify protocols as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and present data clearly in meetings and written reports
  • Manage day-to-day lab operations including inventory and consumables
  • Adhere to safety, GxP, and animal care policies as applicable
  • Demonstrate proficiency across multiple analytical techniques and contribute to group objectives
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, life sciences, or equivalent education with two or more years of experience or Master's degree
  • Proficiency in wet-lab techniques including in vitro enzyme incubations, cell culture, and micropipetting
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of chromatography and/or mass spectrometry (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with in vitro and/or in vivo biotransformation concepts is implied by role
  • Familiarity with handling of radioactive compounds and safety standards is a plus
