Overview In this Senior Accounting Manager role, you will lead external financial reporting for a public-leaning FinTech at Chime within the Controllership team. You own the preparation and quality of SEC filings and statutory reporting, supporting the market with accurate numbers and disclosures. You will partner with Legal, FP&A, People, Stock Administration, and external auditors to drive end-to-end processes and controls. This is a hands-on, technically deep role with ownership of equity accounting and internal controls, offering opportunity to shape scalable multi-entity reporting.

Responsibilities- Assist in preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) including financial statements, footnotes, EPS, and equity rollforwards
- Manage the reporting calendar, disclosure checklists, XBRL tagging, and tie-out files; coordinate deliverables with Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations and external auditors
- Own equity accounting under ASC 718 across RSUs, options and ESPP, including modifications, cancellations, and non-routine awards
- Prepare and review statutory and regulatory financial statements and filings
- Establish scalable intercompany accounting processes for a growing multi-entity structure
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis at month-end close for equity and reporting areas
- Document and maintain SOX-compliant accounting policies, processes, and internal controls over financial reporting; drive automation of manual procedures
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; minimum 6 years of accounting experience
- Big 4 public accounting preferred
- CPA preferred; strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules (Reg S-X and S-K)
- Hands-on experience preparing/reviewing Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K
- Proven ownership of stock-based compensation accounting
- Experience with intercompany and statutory reporting
- Excellent interpersonal, time and self-management skills; ability to meet hard filing deadlines
- Collaborative, adaptable team player with analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills
