Job description

Overview

In this role you drive the budget, schedule, and quality across Murphy USA's retail fueling station development. You'll coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, within-budget project delivery that aligns with MUSA prototypes and standards. You'll lead pre-construction and construction phases, oversee bid processes, and ensure smooth turnover to operations. This is a hands-on role shaping store development programs and improving construction processes at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on due diligence, site investigation, conceptual layout, and cost/schedule estimation for Committee-ready packages
  • Provide value engineering feedback after reviewing civil, architectural, MEP, photometric and fuel design plans
  • Coordinate design and permitting to maintain alignment with approved expectations and standards
  • Manage the bid process: bid calls, bid reviews, and project awards
  • Develop and manage project schedule, budget, and quality during pre-construction and construction
  • Oversee contracts: awards, scheduling, change orders, and close-out for bid and assigned projects
  • Manage general contractors, vendors, and consultants, including training
  • Coordinate with external landlords, sellers, and developers on contractual obligations
  • Perform site visits, provide weekly schedule updates, track issues, and conduct punch lists
  • Review and approve construction invoices for contract compliance
  • Coordinate turnover to operations (fuel drop, POS, signage, in-store setup, testing)
  • Lead stakeholder meetings to resolve project issues
  • Manage inspections through third-party teams and milestones
  • Use Projectmates for project information and communication
  • Oversee punch lists and warranty work, and identify process improvements
  • Perform other related duties as required
Key requirements
  • Broad knowledge across engineering/construction management, accounting, marketing, business administration, finance
  • Equivalent to a four-year college degree plus 5 years related experience and 2 years related management experience
