Overview In this Senior Accountant Consultant role, you ensure accurate financial records for a hospital accounting function. You will manage the general ledger, cash and investment activities, and depreciation, contributing to monthly statements and quarterly audits. You'll work within a not-for-profit healthcare context, supporting cross-functional teams to keep financial reporting compliant and timely. This position offers hands-on impact in financial operations and audits, with a focus on accuracy and process discipline.
Responsibilities- Prepare daily cash receipts, bank deposits, EFT activity, and balance cash accounts; maintain PDF copies of checks and deposits
- Maintain investment accounts and monthly investment reports
- Perform monthly general ledger journal entries, reports, and convert to PDF storage
- Maintain fixed assets records and depreciation schedules
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and related schedules/reports
- Maintain general ledger reports and reconciliations; assist with annual audits and quarterly reporting
- Assist with mail sorting and routing to correct departments
- Assist and review analysis of patient billing and monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of hospital accounting experience
- Proficient in accounting software including automated payroll systems
- Not-for-profit accounting experience is a plus
