Overview In this role, you will strengthen and advance our analytical platform for nucleic acid therapeutics and LNP delivery systems. You will work closely with a cross-functional, fast-paced team to develop and qualify assays, generate robust data, and support product release and stability characterization. You'll contribute hands-on benchwork and guide junior staff, shaping our quality and analytical capabilities in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities- Drive platform development and shape analytical capabilities
- Perform bench work to achieve platform goals with tenacity
- Set up, maintain, and optimize a system for efficient sample testing and data delivery
- Ensure data robustness through lineage tracking of historical data
- Conduct method development for nucleic acid cargo and LNP product release, stability, and characterization
- Lead experimental studies to optimize specificity, sensitivity, precision, accuracy, and/or linearity of analytical methods
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and clearly communicate experimental findings
- Troubleshoot assay development and instrument operation issues
- Run assays on samples from platform development studies
- Maintain inventory of nucleic acid cargo and materials for development and formulation
- Document activities with detailed protocols/reports in Benchling
- Write and revise SOPs; train team on new assays
- Present results to internal teams
- Support general lab operations
- Work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Key requirements- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or related field
- B.S. with 10+ years, M.S. with 8+ years, Ph.D. with 0+ years of relevant industry experience
- Technical expertise in HPLC separations and plate-based assays (ELISA, qPCR/dPCR, residual protein)
- Experience with HPLC methods for mRNA/DNA cargo and nanoparticle delivery (LNPs, liposomes) is highly desired
- Proven ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot complex experiments
- Experience mentoring or training junior staff is desired
- Strong communication and organization skills; familiarity with Benchling, MS Office, JMP, GraphPad, Empower, Chromeleon
- Attention to detail, meticulous record keeping and personal organization
- Ability to analyze, compile, and present data in oral presentations and technical reports
- Strong technical writing skills for SOPs, protocols, and reports
