Responsibilities- Design support for fire protection systems including suppression, detection, alarm, and smoke control
- Perform engineering calculations using standard and proprietary software
- Gather information to inform design decisions
- Prepare designs, drawings, specifications, and reports under guidance
- Verify compliance with codes and standards
- Coordinate with architecture and engineering teams on project delivery
- Provide construction phase support including submittals, RFIs, inspections, and testing
- Lead complex fire protection topics on assigned projects and ensure alignment with client policies and codes
- Coordinate and manage fire protection portions across design and construction phases
- Develop and present technical reports and design sketches
- Lead project coordination meetings and participate in client interactions and cost estimation
- Mentor staff to strengthen technical abilities and contribute to standards development
- Contribute to business development activities such as proposals and presentations
Key requirements- Proficiency in Revit, sprinkler design add-ons (e.g., AutoSprink) and hydraulic calculation software
- Experience with CFD modeling software preferred (FDS, ASCOS)
- Strong knowledge of Building codes and NFPA standards; UFC familiarity preferred
- Licensure as Fire Protection Engineer in at least one US state or jurisdiction; ideally local
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience
- Experience as a Qualified Fire Protection Engineer on Federal projects preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
