Overview You will lead nonprofit audit engagements and serve as the main liaison between partners, clients, and staff. This role sits at the nexus of engagement management, staff development, and client relationships, with a clear track to director. You will ensure quality, timely delivery, and adherence to professional standards across multiple projects. The position blends hands-on technical work with business development and team leadership in a hybrid environment. A meaningful impact comes from shaping nonprofit audits and strengthening client partnerships.
Responsibilities- Manage all phases of multiple audit or review engagements concurrently
- Maintain ongoing client contact and develop thorough knowledge of client business and controls
- Escalate important client developments to Director/Partner and propose solutions
- Demonstrate technical proficiency and adherence to firm standards in engagements
- Plan and monitor engagement budgets; identify and explain overruns; pursue change orders
- Anticipate issues and questions that may arise during engagements
- Review financial statements and client deliverables
- Direct, train, supervise, and review work of junior staff
- Contribute to staff performance evaluations and coaching
- Participate in the Firm's Business Development efforts
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- At least five years of experience in public accounting with nonprofit audits
- Current and valid CPA license
- Strong leadership, supervision, and staff development abilities
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP, GASB, GAAS, and GAGAS
