Tax Senior Manager, Corporate/ASC 740

Overview

In this role you advise clients on tax implications of business decisions, weigh compliant and cost-effective options, and serve as the primary contact for complex tax issues. You will interpret potential tax risks and policy changes, guide filing decisions, and lead high-level client communications. You'll contribute to leadership in the office, support business development, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering expert tax guidance across multiple domains.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Compliance: ensure client and team adherence to tax laws and firm policies; perform top-level review and resolve issues with clients; plan early recognition of material issues
  • Research: identify when research is needed, frame issues, and report analyses; train staff on research methods
  • ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals: apply policies, review tax provisions, explain components to clients
  • Tax Consulting: develop and implement methods to maximize client benefits while managing risk; oversee project plans and communications with tax authorities
  • Tax Specialization: deepen expertise in tax areas and potentially lead external training sessions
  • Strategy Development: research and implement tax strategies, propose improvements, may lead marketing campaigns
  • Other duties as required
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: supervise and mentor staff, review work, train on tools, manage workload and provide feedback
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree in accounting related field; CPA, Attorney, or EA preferred
  • Eight+ years of relevant tax experience; supervisory experience required
  • Industry expertise in tax specialty preferred
  • Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and leadership abilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships and act as primary client contact
