Overview In this role you drive growth for Mercury Systems in high growth markets, leading cross-functional teams to build a strong pipeline and strategic relationships. You engage executive stakeholders, shape growth strategies, and translate customer needs into Mercury offerings. You will collaborate with sales, engineering, contracts, and program management to expand our processing platform capabilities in space and defense domains. Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of growth strategies for High Growth Markets
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (capture, sales, engineering, PM, contracts) to build and manage the pipeline
- Drive executive engagements (EXCOMs, trade shows, industry meetings) to advance opportunities
- Foster customer intimacy through collaborative internal stakeholders and aligned programs
- Translate customer needs into Mercury products, programs, and capabilities
- Oversee an integrated team to deliver annual orders plans for High Growth Markets
- Provide quarterly updates to senior leadership on progress toward growth plans
- Guide early gate processes for new pursuits with internal/external customers
- Be the Voice of the Customer and Mercury to High Growth Market accounts
- Define budgets and Price to Win targets to balance performance, cost, and schedule
- Travel 50% to meet customers and represent Mercury at events
- Lead capture planning and develop end-to-end pursuit strategies
- Influence requirements and architectures in early-stage engagements
- Ensure alignment with DoD space programs and space electronics constraints
- Collaborate on space-ready architectures (SOSA/VPX/SpaceVPX) and OTA/BAA pathways
- Mentor and lead cross-functional capture teams through RdP and proposal stages
Key requirements- 20+ years in Aerospace and Defense with experience in BD, engineering, PM, strategy or sales (components, modules, subsystems)
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Aerospace Engineering with CS/Communications concentration
- Experience in national security space markets and engagement with SDA, USSF/SSC, AFRL, MDA, IC, NASA
- Proven track record in capturing and scaling space programs (LEO, missile warning, ISR)
- Deep understanding of space-qualified electronics, radiation effects, SWaP-C optimization, thermal management
- Experience positioning modular open architectures (SOSA, VPX, SpaceVPX) for DoD space programs
- Technical fluency in space processing and RF payload architectures (FPGA/SoC/GPU, data movement)
- Knowledge of space cybersecurity, trusted systems, and certification considerations
- Ability to define Price to Win and product-market fit for space hardware in constellation procurements
- Strong leadership in cross-functional capture teams (engineering, product mgmt, contracts, PM)
- Excellent verbal and written communication; able to articulate strategy to internal/external stakeholders
- Current or ability to obtain Secret clearance within nine months
- US citizenship or eligible for required authorizations
- US export controls knowledge (ITAR, EAR)
- Availability for significant travel (50%)
- Preferred: Top-Secret clearance and defense electronics BD/capture experience
