Overview As Accounting Manager, you will lead client accounting for diverse engagements within a regional CPA firm. You will supervise engagement teams, manage client communications, and ensure work aligns with scope, budgets, and deadlines. You'll also contribute to business development and mentor staff while overseeing financial processes such as bookkeeping, trial balances, payroll, and KPI reporting. Responsibilities- Oversee engagement teams across multiple client engagements to ensure scope adherence
- Maintain client financial records (bank, vendor, payroll) and prepare period-end packages
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and projections for clients
- Build, analyze, and present KPI dashboards for clients
- Ensure timely client communication and adherence to timelines
- Manage engagement budgets and monitor overruns; address variances
- Invoicing and accounts receivable follow-ups with clients
- Conduct team training and participate in business development
- Travel to other firm locations or client sites as needed
- Support client proposals and new business activities
Key requirements- 7-10 years in accounting with recent time as an account manager or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of double-entry accounting
- Knowledge of US GAAP; working knowledge of taxation matters (individual, corporate, sales, property & business taxes)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Strong English communication skills (read/write/speak)
- Ability to travel to client or firm locations
- Proficiency in Excel
- Knowledge of at least one accounting software (QuickBooks Online)
