Accounts Payable Accountant

You will manage day-to-day accounts payable operations, ensuring invoices and payments are accurate and timely while maintaining reliable financial data. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve questions and discrepancies, support month-end activities, and assist audits. The role emphasizes process improvement and cross-functional partnership to strengthen controls and efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to smooth vendor payment cycles and accurate GL data in a long-term contract setting.

• Process vendor invoices with detailed review, approval, and account coding
• Match invoices to purchase records and receiving docs, investigate discrepancies
• Coordinate scheduled and off-cycle payments (checks, ACH, wire) to meet timelines
• Maintain organized AP documentation and ensure retrievability
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoice status and payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and AP balances, fix discrepancies
• Assist month-end by preparing accruals and posting entries
• Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and support teams to improve payment accuracy and GL data
• Support audits with documentation and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
• Suggest practical improvements to AP processes and efficiency

• Experience in processing accounts payable, reviewing invoices, and coding
• Ability to reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Experience supporting month-end activities and accruals
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with procurement and receiving
• Ability to document and respond to audit requests and maintain compliance
• Must provide 2 supervisor/manager references
