Overview In this role you will be the process engineer for tailings and heap leach facilities at the Phoenix Mine, ensuring design, construction, operation, monitoring and closure align with regulatory standards and GISTM. You will work cross-functionally with mining, environmental, and consulting teams to maintain safety, stability, and performance. The role offers hands-on fieldwork, data analysis, and project leadership in large-scale facility programs. You will contribute to reclamation efforts and optimize water and mass balance modeling to support decisions.

Responsibilities- Inspect and monitor TSFs and HLFs to ensure safety and performance
- Develop and implement tailings management plans and SOPs aligned with GISTM
- Collaborate with operating teams, engineers, environmental specialists, and external consultants
- Review monitoring data (groundwater, seepage, settlement) and assess stability
- Communicate geotechnical findings to Process, Mine Operations, and Engineering teams
- Manage geotechnical drilling programs
- Oversee large-scale projects including team coordination, budgeting, and execution
- Support reclamation and closure of TSFs/HLFs at mine end of life
- Provide updates on water and mass balance modeling to optimize fluid management
Key requirements- Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related engineering degree
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of tailings and heap leach operations and construction
- 2 to 5 years of experience in mining or related industry (preferred)
