Overview In this role you will lead and shape complex Chapter 11 restructurings and creditor representations within a focused bankruptcy practice. You will work with a team to deliver strategic, commercially-minded advice to sophisticated clients and drive cross-functional collaboration. You will manage litigation and financing transactions, mentor juniors, and grow the firm's business in the bankruptcy and restructuring space. This position offers leadership opportunities and the chance to influence major distressed transactions while contributing to industry leadership.

Responsibilities- Lead Chapter 11 cases for debtors, creditors, and committees in contested matters and plan negotiations
- Advise on cash collateral disputes, DIP financing, and post-petition financing facilities
- Handle avoidance actions including fraudulent transfer and preferences from investigation through trial
- Develop financial restructuring strategies (out-of-court workouts, debt-for-equity swaps, distressed M&A)
- Counsel on creditors' rights enforcement, workouts, foreclosures, and security interests
- Draft and argue motions, plan confirmations, and related bankruptcy filings; lead hearings in federal courts (NJ/NY)
- Mentor associates and paralegals; manage staffing, budgets, and client billing
- Drive business development through client relationships, pitches, thought leadership, and industry events
- Collaborate with transactional, tax, litigation, and regulatory teams to provide integrated advice
Key requirements- J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to New Jersey Bar; New York Bar a plus (admission to both preferred)
- 8+ years of substantial bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights experience
- Proven experience with cash collateral, DIP financing, and restructuring financing transactions
- Litigation experience in adversary proceedings, fraudulent transfer, and contested confirmations
- Strong transactional skills in workouts, distressed M&A, and debt restructurings
- Ability to lead client engagements, build business, and manage client relationships; partnership-level or of-counsel experience preferred
- Excellent drafting, advocacy, and courtroom presence; NJ/NY experience preferred
- Experience supervising junior attorneys and managing teams on high-value matters
- Commercial acumen, problem-solving orientation, and ability to translate strategy into business solutions
