Overview In this Tax Partner role, you lead SALT advisory work within a well-established CPA firm. You will drive client service, profitably manage engagements, and contribute to firm growth through business development and staff leadership. You'll oversee SALT technical reviews, state and local tax strategy, and proper enforcement of quality controls. This is a hybrid, in-office and remote position with strong benefits and share in the firm's success. You'll shape SALT offerings for diverse clients and mentor a growing team.

Responsibilities- Provide high-level technical review and approval of income, sales, and franchise tax returns and examinations
- Lead SALT-related client engagements with focus on profitability and efficiency
- Drive business development for SALT-related projects and participate in ongoing BD processes
- Delegate and manage tax research projects to deliver accurate results
- Oversee recruitment, training, evaluation, and retention of accounting staff
- Represent clients in front of taxing authorities as needed
- Update and apply the firm's Quality Control standards and tax opinions
- Support practice development efforts and improve firm operations and profitability
- Maintain strong relationships with firm's tax partners, directors, and managers
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and collections
Key requirements- 10 to 15 years of public accounting experience with progression in engagements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (Master preferred)
- CPA or JD required
- Continued professional education minimum 40 hours annually
