Overview In this role you support the Miami litigation group at DLA Piper, handling state and federal matters and contributing to complex disputes. You work with partners, clients, and colleagues to deliver timely, accurate work products and manage deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You may engage in healthcare and ERISA matters and mentor junior lawyers while aligning with the firm's client-focused approach. This position offers hybrid in-office work and opportunities to shape litigation strategy within a renowned global firm.
Responsibilities- Draft pleadings and briefs for state and federal court matters
- Take and defend depositions; handle discovery disputes
- Manage litigation matters including case management and deadlines
- Maintain timely, accurate work products and communications with clients and teams
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and staff
- Attend client meetings and court/tribunal advocacy as required
- Support business development and client engagement initiatives
- Comply with firm policies and practices
Key requirements- Minimum 4 years of litigation experience
- Florida JD and Bar Admission
- Experience in state and federal courts; strong drafting and deposition skills
