Overview In this role you lead the Capital Region Transit & Rail group, guiding design, development and delivery across multiple departments while ensuring scope, budget and quality. You work with senior leaders to apply strategic sales and planning approaches, drive staffing and resource allocation, and mentor a growing team. The position emphasizes high-impact project delivery, client satisfaction and cross-group collaboration. Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Transit & Rail group's project tasks, budgets, scope, and quality control
- Oversee multiple departments' financial metrics and align with office goals
- Collaborate with office and division leaders on strategic sales, planning, and pursuits
- Coordinate priorities, staffing, and staff assignments to meet client needs
- Provide technical coaching, mentoring, and effective staff utilization
- Direct operating budgets and coordinate with the office budget
- Drive SSA (Strategic Sales Approach), SCA (contracting) and SDA (project delivery) processes
- Support marketing efforts, client discovery, proposals, interviews, and win-to-work activities
- Maintain client relationships and contribute to office strategic planning
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain staff; support performance and succession planning
- Manage project management activities (scope, schedule, budget, quality) and perform technical tasks
- Lead a group of 25-40+ employees
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 12 years of practical experience including 4 years supervisory experience
