Overview

In this role, you will support the Space Development Agency's budgeting and planning efforts, driving PPBE analysis and budget justification work. You'll translate program needs into fiscally sound acquisition and execution documents and manage funding transfers. You will collaborate with technical POCs to ensure budgets align with milestones, while navigating DoD policies and fast-paced deadlines. This position offers an impactful mission within a proliferated space architecture context and opportunities to shape funding strategy for space capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform top-level PPBE analysis and support the development of RDT&E budget justification exhibits
  • Develop and execute funding transfers (e.g., MIPRs) and analyze using USSF financial systems
  • Create and coordinate budget and acquisition documents, including organizing meetings
  • Develop annual spend plans and monthly updates based on milestone payment projections
  • Understand continuing resolution anomalies as they pertain to fund availability and manage spend plan to ensure contracts are funded
  • Work with technical POCs to ensure budget requirements are covered and risks are accounted for
  • Demonstrate proactive problem solving, professionalism, and mature judgment in financial/program management issues
  • Understand DoD policies and regulations and perform configuration management as directed, including review of deliverables for contract compliance
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years relevant experience
  • Prior experience supporting space system development or the Department of Defense
  • Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills
