Overview You will own full-cycle property accounting for multiple assets within a real estate investment firm. In this on-site role, you support property-level and corporate accounting, including fund administration coordination and investor reporting. You'll work across CAM reconciliations, ERP reporting, and lender packages to drive accurate financials. The position offers hands-on experience with a broad scope from property operations to fund-level governance, contributing to portfolio performance. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape close processes and reporting in a growing real estate portfolio.
Responsibilities- Perform full-cycle accounting for 6 multifamily properties and 2 commercial assets, including monthly close and variance analysis
- Prepare and review CAM reconciliations, straight-line rent, and security deposit accounting
- Manage bank reconciliations, cash management, accounts payable, tenant billing, and lease administration
- Support corporate GL accounting, including intercompany transactions and consolidations
- Assist with corporate financial statements and management reporting
- Coordinate data exchange and reporting with outside fund administrators
- Prepare schedules and workpapers for fund-level financial statements, investor reporting, and audits
- Assist with lender reporting packages and covenant compliance documentation
- Maintain investor/portfolio data in the large real estate ERP system (IM portal)
- Build and maintain custom reports in Yardi Voyager for management, investor, and lender reporting
- Identify opportunities to streamline close and reporting workflows across the portfolio
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with a focus on property or real estate accounting
- Hands-on experience with large real estate ERP systems and custom report building
- CAM reconciliation experience required
- Experience working with outside fund administrators preferred
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA a plus
- Must be local and able to work on-site 5 days per week
