Plant Controller

In this role you will provide strategic financial leadership for the Denver plant, guiding profitability and performance as part of the plant leadership team. You will back up the Plant Director, ensure continuity of operations, and drive financial rigor across costing, budgeting, and internal controls. You'll influence cross-functional decisions with clear financial insight, supporting growth and efficiency initiatives. • Provide strategic financial guidance to support plant performance, growth, and profitability
• Serve as the financial leadership backup to the Plant Director and ensure business continuity
• Support leadership decision-making by evaluating financial risks and operational tradeoffs
• Lead cross-functional activities during Plant Director absence or transition
• Monitor financial and operational performance and develop corrective action plans
• Represent the plant in cross-functional reviews and leadership meetings
• Act as the primary financial partner to Plant Leadership, influencing strategic decisions
• Communicate weekly and monthly financial results and metrics to Operations Leadership
• Provide financial analysis of operations data and translate into actionable insights for decisions
• Ensure timely monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and product costing
• Identify opportunities for standardization and develop SOPs across the controller platform
• Support costing for new product quotes and changes to BOM and routing
• Improve variance analysis and use data to drive improvements
• Assist with capital funds request process (CERs) for project relevance
• Assist in annual operating budget preparation and quarterly forecasts
• Foster strong internal controls around COGS, inventory, fixed assets, freight, and expenses
• Develop procedures to address identified risk
• Perform additional duties as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience or 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 7 years of related finance experience with plant leadership exposure
• Experience influencing senior leaders and driving results through financial analysis and partnership
• Experience in leadership roles, cross-functional teamwork, or acting as deputy for site leadership (preferred)
• Food, CPG, or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
• SAP experience and ERP implementation experience a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to streamline processes
• Experience in continuous improvement/lean manufacturing is a plus
• KPI creation, development, and implementation experience is a plus
