Overview In this role you will lead synthesis-focused R&D projects and supervise the manufacture of synthesized chemistry for EnergyX's solvent extraction initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance disruptive materials and engineering systems in the energy sector. The position emphasizes project leadership, lab organization, and clear technical communication with internal and external customers. You will contribute to the development and testing of SX technologies, shaping next-generation energy storage solutions.
Responsibilities- Oversee organic synthesis tasks and delegate lab activities
- Organize daily R&D lab operations and administration
- Ensure safe and correct test execution; perform work across technicians and engineers
- Order reagents and manage equipment; report findings to direct next steps
- Coordinate with directors and VP to keep project timelines on target
- Provide test work to the SX team for technology development and testing
- Guide technicians and engineers on work priority
- Explain and market technology to customers
Key requirements- PhD in chemistry
- Experience synthesizing diverse organic molecules
- Knowledge of synthesis and purification techniques for organic molecules
- Strong relationship and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent communication with internal and external customers
- Self-directed and self-motivated
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Lotus Notes databases
