Overview

As an HR Manager in Melbourne, you will partner with leaders across ANZ Services to drive people outcomes that enable growth and transformation. You will guide managers through performance, change and employee relations, and lead workforce planning and talent development initiatives. You'll support mobility, onboarding, and HR operations while providing data-driven insights to inform decisions. This role offers a broad, strategic mix of business partnering, governance, and culture shaping within a global rail leader.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships across the client group
  • Coach managers through performance improvement plans, performance cycles, and succession planning
  • Lead workforce planning and talent retention strategies with functional leaders
  • Support change management, restructures, redeployment, and organisational design
  • Partner with Talent Development to roll out learning, DE&I initiatives, and site-wide programs
  • Manage day-to-day HR activities: onboarding, promotions, contracts, cost centre changes, resignations, terminations, exits
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to monitor recruitment and report to stakeholders
  • Support expatriate and visa processes with mobility team; assist with compensation & benefits
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data and ensure correct processing of employee changes
  • Provide HR reporting, metrics, and data insights for business decisions
  • Monitor site HR costs and contribute to HR projects
Key requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, or related field
  • Proven generalist HR experience in a similar industry
  • Experience navigating a matrix organisation and influencing without direct authority
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Work Act, employment contracts, Awards, and policies
  • Experience supporting managers through performance, change, and employee relations matters
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills; able to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with competing priorities
  • Collaborative, proactive mindset and enthusiasm for partnering with the business to drive outcomes
