Overview

In this role you will lead electrical design for building projects, focusing on durable, efficient systems and green design. You will collaborate with the electrical team to develop power, lighting, and related infrastructure for commercial, educational, government, and healthcare facilities. You'll translate codes into designs, prepare specifications, and engage clients to drive project proposals and successful delivery. This is an impact role on building performance and long-term value, with mentorship and cross-functional collaboration at the core.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in architectural application of electrical engineering (power systems, lighting, generators, campus infrastructure)
  • Evaluate and apply building codes to create/modify designs and drawings
  • Participate in design development and create electrical specification packages
  • Develop project proposals and client presentations; attend client meetings
  • Verify design compliance with local codes and provisions
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, and documentation
  • Research materials, feasibility, and regulatory restrictions
  • Suggest process improvements and stay updated on practice developments
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of architectural electrical design experience, especially for commercial/retail
  • Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) in New York State
  • Proficient with AGI Lighting Software and REVIT preferred
  • Experience in CAD; willingness to travel to client locations
  • Ability to research code provisions, product data, and materials
  • Strong coordination skills between clients, project manager, and team
  • Mentorship willingness; ability to work both independently and in a team
