Overview

In this role, you will lead daily operations of hourly production teams in a Kingsport packaging facility, driving safety, productivity, and quality. You will partner with maintenance and QA to resolve issues, implement improvements, and coach team members to perform at a high level. The role focuses on sustaining an engaged workforce and a high-performance culture that supports the site's safety, efficiency, and cost-reduction goals. This is a hands-on leadership position in a manufacturing environment with cross-functional collaboration and opportunities to shape operations.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the flow-to-work and maintain a high-performance work system
  • Support day-to-day operations of hourly operational teams, including safety, productivity, quality, scheduling, timekeeping, training, performance, and coaching
  • Inspire and engage team members while promoting team decision-making
  • Plan and execute DMS and shift hand-off meetings
  • Advocate safety and lead by example
  • Identify root causes of issues, implement permanent corrective actions, and document in mill-wide database
  • Achieve target efficiency, downtime, and production metrics
  • Collaborate with Tech/QC, Maintenance, and teams to identify root causes of off-quality events and implement permanent solutions
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and outage responses with Maintenance and Operations
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-reduction projects with CI, management, and teams
Key requirements
  • Minimum ten years in manufacturing
  • Minimum five years in a supervisory role in a paper manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead safety improvements and knowledge of industrial safety procedures
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Analytical and critical-thinking with proven problem-solving ability
  • Proven success in building an engaged team
