Overview As Accounting Manager, you own key areas of the monthly close and drive the evolution of the accounting function. You lead a small team, partner with Engineering, Product Management and Legal, and ensure fast, accurate financial reporting with strong controls. You will implement AI-enabled solutions to streamline close and improve decision-making while upholding SOX compliance. Responsibilities- Own internal-use software capitalization under ASC 350-40, including cost tracking, amortization, impairment, and policy enforcement
- Partner with Engineering and PMO to capture qualifying development costs and set scalable processes
- Review and approve monthly journal entries for software capitalization and amortization
- Analyze internal-use software accounts and explain variances
- Own end-to-end monthly/quarterly close, manage calendars and blockers, drive process improvements
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across accounts
- Prepare management variance commentary and support cross-functional transactions
- Design and operate SOX controls, liaise with external auditors, identify gaps, and implement remediation
- Maintain policies, ensure SOX compliance, and align with global accounting practices
- Identify and deploy AI-assisted tools to accelerate close and automate journal entries
- Lead a small team of 1-2 Senior Accountants with performance management and development
- Support internal and external audits and assist with ad hoc projects
Key requirements- Bachelor in Accounting
- CPA required or actively pursuing
- 6-8+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a manager/lead role
- Experience managing or leading a team of accountants, including offshore collaboration
- Strong US GAAP knowledge with deep ASC 350-40 experience
- Proven SOX compliance ownership and auditor liaison experience
- History deploying accounting tools, automation, or AI-enabled workflows
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth environment
