Overview

As a Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking, you will lead client relationships, manage risk, and tailor bank solutions to client priorities. You'll work with cross-functional teams to monitor credit risk and ensure regulatory compliance while driving business development and client satisfaction. The role blends relationship management with rigorous risk assessment to support profitable client portfolios. A strategic, collaborative leader, you help shape credit strategies and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage client relationships and risk for assigned portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Wholesale Credit and Portfolio Management to obtain timely credit approvals and maintain risk ratings.
  • Develop client relationship strategies and lead a team in execution across sales and risk-management workflows.
  • Conduct regular client calls (in-person at least quarterly) and document outcomes.
  • Provide risk-informed credit and product recommendations to meet client needs.
  • Prepare credit write-ups, asset quality reports, and risk-based analyses with support from credit teams.
  • Build and leverage internal/external referral networks and participate in networking events to drive business development.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and Bank policies (Fair Banking, AML, BSA, USA PATRIOT Act) and uphold policy standards.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Business or related field; equivalent work experience acceptable.
  • 3-4+ years (Level I) to 10+ years (Levels II-IV) of commercial lending or commercial credit experience; underwriting preferred.
  • Sales/marketing experience in corporate or business relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and cash flow lending.
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong networking and business development capabilities
  • Proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of bank software and systems
