Financial Accounting Manager

Overview

In this role, you will drive accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis for AMD's executive leadership and external stakeholders. You will partner with CFO, Investor Relations, Legal, and Corporate Communications to ensure consistent messaging and timely reporting. You'll lead cross-functional projects, implement process improvements with AI and automation, and maintain strong SOX controls. This high-visibility position suits a detail-oriented leader who can translate complex accounting concepts into clear narratives and drive meaningful change.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review internal financial reporting materials for executive leadership, the CFO organization, and the Audit Committee
  • Support materials used for earnings releases, SEC filings, investor presentations, and corporate messaging
  • Partner with Investor Relations, Legal, Corporate Communications, and Finance to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent reporting
  • Analyze financial results to provide decision-ready insights for leadership
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot data discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
  • Drive continuous process improvement through AI, advanced analytics, and automation to scale accounting and reporting
  • Lead cross-functional accounting and reporting projects, including system implementations, automation, and process standardization, while managing competing priorities
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the SOX framework; design, execute, and document key controls
Key requirements
  • Progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry roles
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge; familiarity with SEC rules/regulations
  • Big 4 or equivalent accounting experience
  • Experience supporting large, global technology-driven environments (semiconductor, hardware, or complex manufacturing a plus)
  • Aptitude for information technology and digital tools to enhance reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and influence cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Track record of leading process improvement or automation initiatives
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP) a plus
  • Experience with data visualization tools a plus
  • CPA certification required (or equivalent)
