Overview

In this role, you will design and develop specialized programs to support biomedical research data needs. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data systems and analytics tooling. You'll build ETL/ELT processes, optimize queries, and create dashboards to drive BI insights. The role emphasizes mentorship, quality assurance, and maintaining production systems to support TECPDS and the Texas Infant-Toddler Specialist Network initiatives. Responsibilities
  • Define program and system requirements with stakeholders
  • Lead design of programs and systems from requirements
  • Implement and ensure programs meet technical specs
  • Code moderate/complex programs and perform unit testing
  • Design and conduct system and integration testing with stakeholders
  • Prepare program documentation and deployment procedures
  • Maintain and update existing programs and systems
  • Promote standards and mentor junior colleagues
  • Perform quality assurance reviews on junior colleagues' work
  • Other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • strong skills in query optimization, data modeling, table design, and data validation
  • experience developing ETL/ELT for data integration, transformation, and reporting
  • working with large datasets and multiple data sources for BI and analytics
  • creating dashboards and data visualizations
  • gathering reporting requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions
  • automating data collection, reporting, and quality assurance processes
  • familiarity with Jira
  • strong collaboration and effective written/verbal communication
  • 3 years of relevant research experience in appropriate scientific area is required
