Overview In this role you will lead and coordinate dynamic engineering teams to deliver robust APIs, services, and user-facing experiences that power Circle's internet-of-money platform. You will provide technical direction, drive agile processes, and align engineering outputs with company roadmaps and release plans. As a visible engineering ambassador, you'll manage technical debt, foster cross-functional collaboration, and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives in a fast-paced environment. You will shape teams of engineers toward secure, scalable solutions that enable inclusive financial futures.

Responsibilities- Run day-to-day activities of dynamic engineering teams including grooming, scrums, retrospectives, and team events
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, user-facing experiences, services, and systems
- Provide technical and architectural direction for development, design, integration, testing, and maintenance of the platform
- Lead agile software processes and introduce best-in-class industry practices
- Partner with stakeholders to align contributions with company objectives, develop tech roadmaps, and set realistic release schedules
- Perform full lifecycle of team management including mentoring, recruiting, training, and performance evaluation
- Act as internal ambassador for the engineering team to other groups, communicating opportunities and constraints of technology
- Manage technical debt to maintain velocity, responsiveness, and minimize production incidents
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Circle's engineering management team
- Coordinate execution with cross-functional teams within Circle
Key requirements- 3 or more years of experience in technical leadership
- 7 or more years of experience in software engineering
- 3+ years experience coding in Go, Java, and/or JavaScript
- Hands-on technical manager with experience designing, building and deploying secure, scalable products and services
- Passion for coaching and building leaders and enabling people to do their best work
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to make rigorous decisions and tradeoffs
