Overview

As Communications Manager at Snap, you will lead proactive storytelling for Snapchat and related platforms, translating complex product and monetization updates into clear messaging for media, creators, and partners. You'll guide agency partners, support creator-focused initiatives, and craft strategies around cultural moments to boost Snap's visibility. You'll build reporter relationships and prepare executives for key press moments, while collaborating cross-functionally to measure impact and refine narratives. This role offers the chance to shape narratives for a leading creator-driven tech ecosystem and drive sustained media engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead proactive communications for Snapchat products, monetization, and creator programs
  • Translate product updates into clear messages for media, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead external agency partners for media strategy and execution
  • Support communications across content and partnerships (sports, music, creators)
  • Craft communications strategies around major cultural moments and partnerships
  • Build reporter relationships across creator economy, tech, entertainment, sports, and culture
  • Draft materials (Newsroom posts, briefs, media pitches, FAQs, talking points) and organize press opportunities
  • Prepare spokespeople and executives for interviews and press moments
  • Identify trends in creator economy and digital culture to inform proactive opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate launches, programs, partnerships, and platform changes
  • Measure impact, track coverage and sentiment, and adjust strategies based on insights
Key requirements
  • Strong reporter relationships across creator economy, tech, entertainment, and culture
  • Deep understanding of the creator and digital content ecosystem and monetization models
  • Proven experience developing comms strategies for consumer tech products or features
  • Ability to switch between proactive storytelling, product launches, partnerships, and reactive comms in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, editorial judgment, and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate business and cultural trends into earned-media opportunities
  • Strong cross-functional relationship-building with Product, Partnerships, Marketing, Legal, Policy, and leadership
  • Experience managing multiple high-priority projects with evolving priorities and tight deadlines
  • Experience with global communications teams and coordinating campaigns; external agency management preferred
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 8+ years in communications, PR, product communications, or related field, preferably in consumer tech or media
