Responsibilities- Apply advanced geophysical and seismological principles to support AFTAC's nuclear explosion monitoring mission
- Analyze seismic, hydroacoustic, and infrasound waveform data to detect, locate, and characterize events
- Develop and implement methods to lower detection thresholds and improve discrimination between earthquakes and explosions
- Collaborate with government scientists and analysts to deliver technical reports, briefs, and analytical tools
Key requirements- US citizen
- Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (fully adjudicated)
- 15+ years of experience in global geophysical monitoring, seismology, or infrasound/acoustic analysis
- Proven track record integrating prototype scientific products into operational capabilities
- Experience with machine learning for signal detection, event association, or discrimination
- Software development experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Strong mathematics/physics/statistics background and expertise in wave propagation and geophysical signal analysis
- Experience in a government SCIF environment
