Overview

In this Reliability Engineer role at 3M Tonawanda, you'll lead reliability initiatives to prevent and reduce equipment failures and drive lifecycle asset management. You'll design standards, support training, and implement PM/PdM programs, RCM, and TPM to achieve world-class maintenance reliability. You'll act as a reliability SME, guide improvement teams, and track KPIs to show impact. Responsibilities
  • Outline a systematic approach to predict, prevent, and reduce equipment failures using reliability techniques
  • Design and implement reliability standards, training, and equipment modifications to achieve world-class maintenance reliability
  • Manage full Life Cycle Asset Management and keep deployed technology current
  • Perform FMEA to ensure effective PM/PdM programs across assets
  • Apply Reliability Based Maintenance (RCM) and TPM methodologies
  • Assess and develop craftspeople's capability in reliability roles
  • Analyze failure, cost, uptime data to develop improvement plans
  • Serve as the equipment reliability SME and lead improvement teams
  • Manage and report KPIs for reliability program results
  • Provide leadership support for Maintenance Conscious Engineering strategies
  • Perform and document equipment criticality analysis for spare strategy
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Science or Engineering (completed before start)
  • Six (6) years of combined maintenance/engineering/manufacturing/plant engineering experience in relevant sectors
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication to diverse audiences
  • Reliability credentials such as CMRP/CMRT (preferred)
  • Experience with reliability analysis, predictive (PdM) and preventative (PM) maintenance
  • Analytical skills and troubleshooting ability
  • Travel up to 10% domestically
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
