Overview

As Regional Safety Manager, you will lead safety, health, and environmental programs across multiple construction sites in the Southeast. You will shape site safety strategies and ensure compliance with OSHA standards while fostering a proactive safety culture. Your work directly supports Ameresco's mission to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy efficiency and renewable projects. This remote role requires up to 75% travel and collaboration with project teams and subcontractors to drive safety excellence and incident prevention. Responsibilities
  • Oversee site-specific safety plans and activity hazard analyses
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and adopted standards
  • Develop and implement safety program strategy and improvements
  • Verify PPE meets OSHA requirements and train employees
  • Conduct safety audits and ensure safe work practices
  • Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions
  • Review subcontractor safety qualifications and participate in pre-construction meetings
  • Collaborate with supervision to address safety concerns and solutions
  • Maintain safety certifications and lead monthly safety meetings
  • Travel up to 75% to support safety operations
Key requirements
  • Seven+ years of progressive EHS experience in construction, renewable energy, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or energy-related operations
  • Experience supporting utility-scale or commercial solar PV, BESS, or solar O&M projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety, NFPA 70e, lockout/tagout, arc flash, energized work
  • Proficiency with OSHA Construction and General Industry standards preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Procore
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence leaders and teams
  • Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification; advanced certifications preferred
  • CSP/ASP/SMS or other safety certifications preferred; CHST/OHST preferred
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Remote-ready with willingness to travel
