Overview

In this HR Generalist role, you will lead HR functions for WG Houston and THI locations, ensuring compliant record keeping and effective policies. You will manage data, payroll interfaces, and HR processes across the employee life cycle while collaborating with the HR Director. You'll support labor relations, recruitment, onboarding, and training to drive consistent HR operations. This role offers impact through governance, employee engagement, and process improvement in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee office operations and department cost management
  • Create and distribute company announcements and communications
  • Manage HR activities for WG Houston and THI locations in coordination with HR Director
  • Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  • Process HR transactions in the HRIS and ensure data accuracy for payroll
  • Generate and maintain HR reports (e.g., AAP, EEO, headcount, org charts)
  • Review wages for hires and promotions; administer union GWI increases
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and manage uniform/safety equipment programs
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, interviewing, offers, relocations, and new hire orientation
  • Manage exit processes and property reconciliation
  • Act as liaison between management and unions; interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements
  • Oversee performance management processes and salary planning
  • Ensure SOX compliance for HR controls
  • Develop and deliver HR training and support employee engagement initiatives
  • Engage with labor relations to support negotiations and employee relations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with HRIS and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with payroll interfaces and HR data management
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and labor relations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with union and non-union employee relations
  • Strong report generation and analytics skills
  • Experience with SOX compliance in HR controls
