Overview In this role you perform detailed credit analysis to support commercial loan underwriting, partnering with lending officers to assess risks and structure loan deals. You prepare in-depth credit memorandums and present opportunities to loan authorities, while guiding junior analysts. The work focuses on mitigating risk across diverse client relationships and delivering timely, literature-rich assessments that inform lending decisions. This position offers meaningful impact in risk management and client financing within Prosperity Bank's lending team.
Responsibilities- Analyze client financial statements, industry risks, and economic factors impacting loan repayment
- Engage with borrowers and loan officers to gather information and discuss credit issues
- Structure loans within policy to mitigate risk
- Prepare credit memorandums outlining opportunities, risks, and proposed structures
- Identify high-risk credit situations and take action to protect the bank
- Present analyses to loan approval authorities/loan committee
- Mentor junior analysts
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- College degree in business or equivalent
- 7+ years of related banking experience
- Extensive underwriting experience for commercial loans across industries
- Deep familiarity with regulations and industry best practices for commercial and industrial and commercial real estate loans
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and manage high-complexity projects
