Overview In this role you will lead reliability initiatives for AES's PV+BESS inverter assets, shaping asset strategy and maintenance practices. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve uptime, perform root-cause analysis, and implement reliability programs. The position blends hands-on technical work with process leadership, supporting AES's mission to provide safer, greener energy. You will act as a domain expert, driving continuous improvement and design-for-reliability in a fast-paced renewables portfolio.

Responsibilities- Develop and oversee reliability strategies for PV+BESS inverter assets to boost reliability and availability
- Analyze reliability data from sites and CMMS to identify failure patterns and drive remediation
- Lead major repairs at operational sites and coordinate with subcontractors/vendors
- Evaluate repowering/retrofit opportunities using cost-benefit analysis
- Design and implement improvements to maintenance practices and tooling, including SAP WG processes
- Lead and perform FMEAs for critical assets and drive proactive risk mitigation
- Provide technical support during planned outages to ensure safe, efficient maintenance
- Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous improvement within the team
Key requirements- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years engineering experience focused on equipment reliability in high-power electrical systems
- Experience with PV+BESS inverter technology and related subsystems (PCS, BESS, PV, HVAC)
- Experience with RCA/FMEA
- Reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, Weibull)
- Proficiency with reading schematics
- Strong communication and MS Office skills
- Experience with CMMS (SAP PM) and SCADA
- Willingness to travel within the U.S.
