Overview

In this role you lead advanced actuarial analyses to inform pricing and reserving decisions for Commercial Professional Lines. You'll apply actuarial principles to guide business strategy, evaluate new opportunities, and perform due diligence on portfolios or acquisitions. Your work supports data-driven decisions by senior leaders and helps maintain profitability. You'll collaborate across functions and shape pricing strategies in a dynamic, cross functional environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead pricing analyses for Commercial Professional Lines, developing rate indications and pricing tools
  • Evaluate and support new business opportunities, including research, modeling, and framework development
  • Partner with Underwriting, Claims, and other stakeholders to reflect risk characteristics and market dynamics
  • Communicate actuarial findings to technical and non-technical audiences, adapting as needed
  • Present results and recommendations in meetings with alignment across audiences
  • Provide guidance on actuarial principles, methodologies, and assumptions to non-actuarial partners
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and represent Actuarial in broader projects
  • Support development of junior staff by reinforcing best practices and aligning with corporate standards
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of actuarial experience, strong emphasis on Commercial Lines pricing
  • Experience in Professional Lines products (e.g., E&O, D&O, EPLI) preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects with deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence and collaborate with Underwriting and business partners
  • Ability to articulate and defend actuarial assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking, balancing rigor with business judgment
  • Experience in cross-functional environments and driving stakeholder alignment
  • Ability to balance creativity with actuarial discipline in pricing strategies
  • US Work Authorization
  • ACAS required; FCAS preferred
